Winter 2012-2013 Snowfall Predictions

According to accuweather.com’s long range winter forecast, we could be in for a colder-than-average winter season. Though last year’s winter was mild, the winter of 2009-2010 should still be fresh in the DC/Metro area’s mind. Over 30 inches of snow fell in February alone and the season total came in around 56 inches, compared to an average expected snowfall of only 14 inches.

The question is: are you prepared for another “snowpocalypse”? Heavy snowfalls can lead to build-up on roofs, and ice dams that cause damaging interior leaks.  Consumer Construction was on-call to clear snow from dozens of roofs suffering damage during the winter of 2009-2010 and will be prepared to handle any emergencies this year, should they arise.

With the predictions showing a harsh winter on the horizon, it is important to make sure your home is prepared. Be proactive and do a full inspection of your home’s exterior. If you have any questions, contact our office at (703) 491-0745 and we will be glad to help in any way. We look forward to another exciting holiday season, and hopefully many snow days at home with our families!
