In November 2007, I had roof leaks in two heavy rainstorms. Based on recommendations of two friends who had roofing work done, I called Consumer Construction and was given an appointment to investigate the problem. The representative showed up on time, and we mutually determined that I need a new roof. I noted from the signs on the truck that Consumer Construction also did windows, which I also need replaced. I told the representative I needed other work done. He sent out Mark Mitchell with the roofing estimate. When mark arrived we discussed the work I needed done, namely roof, windows, siding, gutters, shutters, and exterior doors. Mark scheduled the roof replacement, since it was urgent, and prepared estimates for the other work in a prompt manner.

Based on the estimates, we elected to go with a single contractor based on mark’s upfront presentation of his company’s capabilities and the quality products he proposed. He was totally professional and presented license, insurance, and bond information without prompting. His honest demeanor and presentation of more information that I wanted convinced me that I did not need to seek other estimates. They schedule the work immediately and kept us informed of weather delays, which occurred in the unsettled weather of the winter. I was most impressed with the communication from the office staff and Mark, himself. He personally over saw our work.

Upon completion I am glad that I selected Consumer Construction and used all their services and quality products as getting everything done from one source allows for the best installation and finished product. The flexibility of the company was impressive. In the middle of the work, we decided to use a stone surround for the front entry. Mark made the change seamlessly with the other work scheduled and got the stone on order and installed in a manner that did not interfere with, but rather, complemented the other installations.

All the work was started as scheduled, completed in an expeditious manner much sooner than I expected, and done in a complete workmanlike manner. I was most impressed with the attention of the installers with protection of my property. They took care not to damaged plantings and cleaned up daily so there was no unsightliness to the site despite the amount of work being done. It is refreshing doing business with a company as communicative, professional, honest, and efficient as Consumer Construction. We heartily recommend them to all.

We are extremely happy and satisfied with all of the work done at our home by Consumer Construction. The work included a new roof, ten vinyl windows, and metal trim on four front dormers and downstairs front windows. Mark, the owner, came up with excellent suggestions for making our roof and dormers leak-proof from ice dams. Mark designed the layout of the metal trim covering the dormers. The dormers are beautiful. The quality of the vinyl windows and metal trim is excellent. The jobs were well-managed and coordinated by Mark. The workers were very courteous, professional, and took great care with our shrubbery and plants. Every detail was monitored and Mark took the time to make sure we were satisfied with the complete job. The prices are reasonable for the quality materials, excellent workmanship and outstanding supervision provided by the company.

The two roofs you replaced for us in March were completed in the same trouble-free manner as all the work that you have done for us. Having not been thrilled with the roofing work done for me by another firm, in April 2003 I selected Consumer Construction to replace much of the roofing on my large Alexandria residence. I was extremely pleased with the quality, price, timeliness and neatness of the company's work. Two years later I asked Consumer Construction to do minor roofing and gutter repairs, and again was most pleased with their work. In June of 2008 I needed to replace a large section of the original slate roofing on my house. I solicited bids from several firms, and selected Consumer Construction based upon its low bid and my previous very satisfactory experience with the company. Again, the work was done well and on schedule. On all three occasions over the past five years I have been very pleased with the price and quality of Consumer Construction's work, and would recommend the firm to others without reservation.

As a real estate management firm, we have ongoing needs for the services of reliable contractors for maintenance and repair on the properties we manage. In 2006 we had the good fortune to meet Mark Mitchell of Consumer Construction, Inc. Since that time, Consumer Construction has replaced the roofs on an office building and two houses for us, as well as completing miscellaneous other repairs at those locations. My roof was impaled by a large tree limb during a thunder storm which caused an 8 inch diameter hole in my roof. As a result, we experienced water damage to our home. Since additional storms were expected later that day which would have caused additional water damage, Consumer Construction came out to my home within a few hours after my phone call to make the necessary roof repairs. Their workers were effective, efficient, courteous, and professional. They provided me with pictures of the damage which I could share with my insurance agent. Victor arrived the day after our request and did an excellent job climbing the steep roof peaks to glue and hammer down the shingles. My daughter and I are really impressed with the good job that Consumer Construction did on our new roof. They replaced all the shingles and about 1/3 of the plywood underneath. The finished product looks beautiful. The shingle caps and newly painted louver vents add the finishing touch. We appreciate how well the team cleaned up after the roofing operation. After our experience and our neighbor's experience with other contractors and the mess they left behind, we were very relieved that the Consumer Construction team didn't do that. After 7 months we still haven't found any nails or staples in places where someone could step on them. We also appreciated Mark Mitchell's good and thorough explanation of everything that the job would include. He answered our questions about a number of things including the purpose of the ice and water shield which served us great this winter and we were able to notice a great difference also.

We received so much for our money. The price was reasonable and included so many things. Unlike past roofing jobs, which water started leaking into our house after a short time, this job is different. Yesterday, your crew arrived at 7am sharp to begin the labor intensive task of removing the cedar shake shingles off our home. By 3:30pm the surrounding grounds looked like a war zone, there were piles of debris surrounding every possible entrance. I was worried, how in the heck will I be able to get the four dogs out. Luckily there was a small path cleared by the garage and I got each dog out for a little walk. I have to tell you, in my mind I kept thinking, oh my gosh, they can't leave this like this, it's almost 5pm, and quitting time. There was debris everywhere. Then to my surprise, the guys had disposed of all of the debris, by 6:30pm and showed no signs of quitting. The cleanup began with the broom magnet and blowers. I was impressed. The guys started nailing the underlayment and I thought for sure they would soon leave. Nope, not till 8pm did they stop for the day, not until the entire area was free and clear of debris and the driveway perfectly clean. WOW that's impressive!

It's now, 6:50am Thursday morning and the guys have been here for 20 minutes getting ready to begin a day of work. I have never seen a crew of guys work so hard. Please thank each and everyone for me. Your service is definitely a referable service and that is important to me. I'm very pleased with the professionalism and workmanship of Consumer Construction on the recent roof replacement work in West Springfield. From time of initial cost quote to completion of the work was faster than I anticipated, and absolutely no hassles in any facet of the work. When I had a minor issue with removing old satellite dish wires, a company representative came back and took care of it right away. Although the final bill was more than I had hoped due to the extensive wood replacement which was required, I'm very pleased and feel I got my money's worth. I admire the roof every day when I pull in my driveway!

It is a difficult process trying to find a contractor of any sort to do quality work in the time frame designated. I must say Consumer Construction, Inc. stepped up and met the challenge. From the first contact through the estimate; selecting the materials, and finally agreeing to a price was very professional and painless. I was given a date that the work would take place, which was a date my wife would be out of town. I was assured that this would work out fine. As it turned out it was perfect. We returned late in the day with a perfect new roof, not one piece of old or new material was to be found, no nails left in my driveway to run over. Some of the under roofing plywood had to be replaced and before the crew realized this, a worker stepped thru the roof and thru the ceiling on the car port. I was given an allowance to repair the ceiling and the name of a man to do the job, I would challenge anyone to find where the damage was. When Trinity Episcopal Church needed a new roof we knew we had a few challenges that needed a roofer with knowledge, experience and skill. Our buildings range in age from 1886 to 1972. Our sloped roofs had a variety of constructions and some of our flat roofs had had chronic leaks that patching had only provided with temporary fixes. And on top of all that our roof is our most prominent architectural feature. Consumer Construction brought everything to the job that we needed. During construction they kept the property clean and their workers were always professional. They were so good on the job that two months later when I needed a roof for my home I had no doubt that I wanted Consumer Construction for the job.
