Snowshoe Mountain – Allegheny Springs

Completed: September 2001

Consumer Construction had the privilege of being involved with the construction of Snowshoe Mountain Ski Resort’s premier lodging facility, Allegheny Springs, in the fall of 2001. Located near Mark Mitchell’s hometown of Marlinton, WV; the project consisted of installing GAF Slateline shingles on the entire roof, and multiple Durdadek balcony decks for the slope-side and village-side condo units.

The project posed several technical challenges including the building’s height, its unique architectural details, the resort’s location on top of the mountain as opposed to the base, and inclement weather, among others. Despite the numerous challenges, the project was completed on time and on budget. Working on the expansion of his boyhood ski resort is truly one of Mark’s and Consumer Construction’s proudest achievements.
